White Belt Primer - Additive Arts $25/person - 60 min
|
This 60-minute intro-class is designed to give you just a slice of what 3D printing can do. We'll first explain just how this crazy new technology works as well as what people can and do with it in various industries.
Next, we will talk about the future of 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, including how it is changing, and will change our lives. After that, we will walk you through the opportunities that Tekton Tech provides as your resource for all things 3D Printing related. After that, we can chat about what the Additive Arts Belt Training Programs can do for you and how it can help build your 3D future! |

This 8 credit hour BEGINNER class will teach you the very basics of 3D printing. We'll cover the history, present, and the future of the technology. We'll teach the theory, concepts, application, and the software we use to manufacture amazing prints.
You Then learn what it takes to prepare the printer and calibrate it for best results. Next, you learn how to find existing solutions to real world problems in the form of shared files to download, print and implement in your life. This is really where your 3D printing journey begins. The first 4 hours of this course are theory and hands-on training, the remaining 4 plus hours are lab sessions. Classes occur on a rotating basis Thursday through Saturday each week. For current schedules, please contact us. *Belt Testing Presentations are held every 2 months and give the participant the opportunity to share their projects to validate learning and highlight their experience. |
Yellow Belt1 to 2 sessions a week - minimum of
8 classes minimum required* + 1 project |
Green Belt1 to 2 Classes per week - 8 Classes minimum required
+ 3 Projects to share |
Alright, this is where the extruder meets the bed, so to speak. The ADVANCED class is also 8 credit hours long, and will teach you, in depth, how to setup and modify the advanced settings in our slicing software, introduce 3d modeling in Fusion 360, and go over very common issues that occur with 3D printers and how to troubleshoot them! Bring your notebook, because this will need some note taking. The first 4 hours of this course are theory and hands-on training, the remaining 4 plus hours are lab sessions. |
Blue Belt dives into 3D MODELING and will get you on your feet and able to create almost anything that you want to print! This will really get your creative juices flowing and inspire you to create and solve problems using 3D printing technology! Now, you can finally create that part to fix the thing(s) or that product that you've always wanted to prototype but just didn't have the skills. With 3D modeling software and the right instruction, you can turn your dreams into a physical, touchable, reality.
The first 4 hours of this course are theory and hands-on training, the remaining 4 plus hours are lab sessions. |
Blue Belt 2+ Classes per week - 8 Classes required

Brown Belt
|
Now you're getting into the mastery of 3D Printing. Brown belt drives you into advanced 3D Modeling and manipulation techniques. It also includes further troubleshooting guidelines and calibration techniques required to run more than one filament at the same time (Dual Extruders here we come!)
By the time you complete Brown belt you've figured out how to master the printing and additive manufacturing techniques that only experienced engineers understand! Crazy thing is, by this point, you will be the experienced engineer and an Additive Arts Printing Master! |
Black Belt
|
Ok, here is where you really start to become a master in desktop additive arts. The Black Belt puts you in the drivers seat to build a 3D printer from ReliaBuild 3D. The ReliaBuild line of printers allows you to experience a NO-Solder, NO-Crimp build that is solid, robust and teaches you the ins-and-outs of how to build a printer and take it to the next level.
This course covers mechanical assembly, firmware installs, GCode Terminal use and everything else needed to get the printer into tip-top shape. By the time you are done building, this machine is a smooth runner that rivals $10k printers. |
MASTER BLACK BELT
Master Black Belt is the pinnacle of Additive Arts and 3D printing. The master black belt course allows you to learn how to design and build your own printer from open-source components. By the time you get to Master Black Belt, you are a master of creating your own prints and successfully troubleshooting, but to become a true master, you must build more than just a 3D printed light saber. You must build the printer!
This course reviews the differences between 12 volt and 24 volt systems, different main-board options from 8 bit to 32 bit and types of available extruders. It also discusses frame options, motion systems and controls and allows you to customize your build size, platform and features. All along they way, we are with you - helping, consulting and driving with you to a one-of-a-kind printer that will be the envy of everyone in the community.
*black-belt training does not include the cost of the printer components. Students must be prepared to purchase components to build their printer. The printer design the student comes up with will dictate the price range of their final printer. We have seen this done for as little as $400 and as high as $4000.
